Tap a string that has nothing lying on top of it and it slides away. If another string crosses over the one you tapped, it flashes red, the strings on top glow, and you lose a heart. Clear every string to finish the board.

Tap Hint at the bottom of the board to highlight a string you can cut right now (25 coins). You can also pause the game to Undo your last cut or Restart the board. Tip: look for a string whose crossings all pass under other strings. Those are cut last.

Time Attack gives you 60 seconds to clear as many boards as you can. In Perfect Cuts, a single wrong tap ends the run. Endless keeps serving boards that get steadily harder. When a run ends, you may be offered a continue. Choosing Start over begins a fresh run.

Leaderboards use Game Center. Make sure you're signed in under Settings > Game Center on your device and connected to the internet, then finish another board or run. Scores can take a few minutes to appear.

Yes. On iPad, the board and controls sit side by side in landscape, and the game supports Split View, Slide Over, and Stage Manager. With a keyboard: Esc pause, H hint, ⌘Z undo, ⌘R restart, Return next level, ⌘[ home. A trackpad or mouse highlights the string under the pointer.

Clear a Journey board for 10 coins, or 15 if you don't lose a heart. Arcade boards earn a smaller amount. Coins can't be bought with money.

Open the Store from the home screen and tap a locked theme. You can buy it with coins, or watch a few optional ads to unlock it early. Your progress toward an ad unlock is saved, so you can come back later to finish.

Progress, coins, and themes are stored on your device, so deleting the app erases them. They don't transfer between devices. Remove Ads is tied to your Apple Account and can always be restored (see below).

It's a one-time purchase that removes the ad breaks between levels and gives you free continues in arcade runs. Coins, hints, and themes work the same for everyone.

On the home screen, tap Remove ads in the bottom-left corner, then tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

Try Restore purchases as described above. If you used Ask to Buy, the purchase applies once it's approved. If ads still appear, email us with the date of your purchase.

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Tap the settings button in the top-right corner of the home screen and switch Music or Sound effects off. Span also stays quiet if you're already playing music from another app.

Yes. Turn on Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion on your device. Span will stop background particles and cut effects, and simplify screen transitions.
